Earplug product features and benefits

*U.S. EPA specifies the NRR as the measure of hearing protector noise reduction. However, 3M makes no warranties as to the suitability of the NRR for this purpose. 3M strongly recommends personal fit testing of hearing protectors. Research suggests that users may receive less noise reduction than indicated by the attenuation label value(s) on the packaging due to variation in fit, fitting skill, and motivation of the user. Refer to applicable regulations for guidance on how to adjust attenuation label values. It is recommended that the NRR be reduced by 50% to better estimate typical protection.
Disposable Foam Earplugs
3M™ Disposable Foam Earplugs, made from slow-recovery foam, help provide a combination of comfort and hearing protection for users. Once the foam earplugs are compressed into small cylinders (rolled down), they are easy to insert into ears where the slow recovery foam expands to fit the ear canals. 3M provides a wide range of disposable foam earplugs so you can choose the best solution for your needs.

How to use

Fitting Instructions
1. ROLL and compress disposable foam earplugs into a very thin crease-free cylinder.
2. REACH around the head to pull the ear outward and upward to help straighten the ear canal. Insert compressed earplug well into the ear canal.
3. CHECK FIT after inserting earplug.
4.LISTEN to steady loud noise with earplugs in both ears. Cover ears with tightly cupped hands. Noise should sound about the same whether or not ears are covered.
CAUTION: For greater comfort and safety, remove earplug slowly with twisting motion to gradually break the seal.
Classic™
Classic™ earplugs are the industry’s first foam earplugs, virtually revolutionizing hearing protection when Classic™ was introduced to the world. Today, the revolution continues.
Classic™ earplugs meet wearer needs with the soft proprietary energy-absorbing slow recovery foam, preferred cylindrical shape and proven in-ear comfort.

- Pillow pack option for storage of earplugs between uses
3M™ E-A-R™ Classic™ Earplugs have set the industry standard for noise reduction as the world’s first foam earplugs. These earplugs are made of a proprietary soft energy-absorbing slow-recovery foam that’s designed to conform to the shape of the ear canal to help provide hearing protection.
This earplug’s moisture resistant foam is initially firm to make fitting the earplug easier, softening once it’s in the ear to comfortably expand and conform to the shape of each ear canal. The slow recovery feature helps with earplug insertion by giving the user time to get the compressed foam cylinder (rolled down earplug) into the ear before the foam fully expands. Per-pair packaging options include a pillow pack that can be used to store earplugs between uses or a standard polybag; dispenser bottles for One Touch Pro dispenser are also available. Comes with or without cord to suit user preference. This product is EAR fit testable to help validate the level of protection the individual user can achieve with this product.
